Queer Sport Split (QSS) has been formed as a informal initiative in 2005. However, in 2011 it was registered as a non for profit organisation. Legacy of the QSS was mostly built on sports and sporting activities, social activities, and advocacy for a local LGBTIQ community. In the last couple of years it has been focusing mostly on psychosocial support, group work, victim support, personal development and peer support activities using different methods such as yoga, mindfulness, movement, arts, body work, counselling, CBT, and integrative body oriented techniques.
Since 2019 QSS has become a member of LGBT Centra Split that has been formed as a socio-cultural centre for the local LGBTIQ community and it is in Split historical city centre. LGBT Centre Split is run by the Platform of the LGBT Centre Split that values inclusion, tolerance, nonviolence, anti-fascism, and queer feminism. Civil society organisations that make part of the Platform beside Queer Sport Split are Domine, queerANarchive, Platforma Doma mladih, Uzgon and Split Pride.
